About This Dog/puppy
Phyllis is an adorable Dachshund/Wire Haired Terrier mix with a cute little underbite and hair that sticks up on the top of her head. She arrived at our rescue from an overcrowded high kill shelter shortly after having pups, traumatized and fearful. She showed signs of having been abused. Phyllis was afraid of the other dogs at the rescue and so we immediately placed her in a loving foster home.
The change in Phyllis has been amazing. She is now a happy, wiggly, playful little girl who twirls excitedly in circles for her food. Phyllis romps and plays with the other dogs in her foster home and then curls up with them and licks and grooms their faces. She loves car rides and her daily walks in the dog park where she approaches the other dogs wagging her tail. Phyllis also lives with laid back dog-savvy cats. She is fine with them, will sleep next to them on the couch, but definitely prefers her dog buddies.
Phyllis is an affectionate and cuddly, yet calm dog. Her favorite thing is a tummy rub. She is very smart and so sweet! And she has beautiful expressive eyes. Given her past traumas, Phyllis would do best in a quiet home with a compassionate adopter who will give her lots of positive reinforcement. Phyllis would love another confident small dog buddy in her new home. And she would love to curl up in your lap and sleep in bed with you at night.
Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Phyllis will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise and affection she deserves.
Health: Phyllis has been spayed and microchipped. She is current on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has been wormed and flea treated, tested negative for heartworm and Parvo
History: Phyllis comes from an overcrowded shelter in California. Rompin Paws Rescue was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs RPR pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state Law.
Adoption:

There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application.
Adoption Fees
Adoption fee is 450.00 this covers transport and adoption and medical such as certain vaccines, worming and parasite, and flea/tick control, health certificate and wellness exam, and 30 day insurance certificate
We bring dogs from up from California. so there are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and sometimes boarded if we can't place them in a foster, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington, Also, we don't receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs.
All dogs and Puppies come with a certificate for one month of no cost TRUPANION health insurance coverage for your new companion
About Rompin Paws Rescue
Rompin Paws Rescue is a licensed, non-profit organization working towards our 501C3, specializing in rescuing moms to be, moms with puppies, puppies without moms and other Death Row dogs. We are located in Western Washington State.
Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.
We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship.
Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California..
RPR was established in April, 2015. We placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on Acreage in Arlington Washington.
We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives
Come Meet Our Pets...
We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process...
Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. We continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.More about Phyllis, a sweet terrier mix
