Wendy, Wendy is a Very sweet and loving 31 pound Chow Chow. we do not know if she is mixed or what the mix may be. Wendy needs a quiet home but needs at least a one mile walk a day to keep her hips loose and fluid and keep muscle strength. Wendy is a Special needs dog. She came to us with Entropian (reversed eyelids) and was nearly blind. The eye lids have been surgically repaired and for the first time in 1.5 years she can see and is without pain. Due to this, she has been learning to play and has discovered the joy of balls, toys, seeing her food and being able to see people and dogs. It has been wonderful to watch her amazement at new sights. Wendy also had extreme allergies to foods, likely due to a very, very poor quality diet that left her immune system a mess. We have her on a grain free Dehydrated HUMAN GRADE diet and add oils and Kelp for a complete nutritional profile. She is now thriving!! she also receives a muscle builder and joint supplements for horses and has built new muscle mass and can now walk about 1 mile a day. Wendy needs to remain on this diet, for long term health and vitality. Wendy is still special needs as digital X-rays show she has bad hip dysplasia. She will either require surgery or be left as is. What has helped her go from not being able to walk, to walking and playing to a degree, is constant exercise to rebuild her muscles, horse muscle builder and horse joint supplements. She needs to receive these nutrients, every day for the rest of her life, to maintain mobility and fluidity in all of her joints and to keep the connective tissue healthy *(way better than drugs). They are easily purchased and very affordable. Wendy is now thriving and seeking a furever family who will have time for her, love her, walk her and keep her Chow Chow coat well groomed. Her adoption fee is $550.00. Wendy has been spayed, had her dew claws removed, Entropian eye surgery, all vaccinations and microchipped. she will be groomed one more time, professionally before being adopted. Wendy is healthy, happy and ready to explore the world with you. She does get along with other dogs, but will need a calm older, gentle animal as she is unable to rough house. If you love the chow breed and want a sweet dispositioned, smaller version, Wendy is your girl More about Nala formerly WendyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Somewhat vocal, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Likes to play with toys, Needs special care, Playful, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Even-tempered, Gentle, Goofy Special Needs: has hip displasia, need to remain on human grade, non grain diet to keep inflammation to a minimum, keep on horse joint supplements and Muscle builder for life. hip surgery recommended
