Toby Is a Miniature Shih Tzu who weighs all of 6lbs. He came to us from a Euthanasia list of dogs we pulled from 2 rural California shelters on July 18th. Toby had been brought in as a stray and was severely emaciated and had a burn under one of his eyes. The shelter had a vet shave his face to expose the skin and allow us to treat it so the face skin would heal. So while he looks funny as his facial fur grows back, the burn is healing nicely. Toby is being fostered in Seattle and is being fed a human grade mixed with raw food- diet which includes fish and coconut oils, probiotics and a wealth of special supplements that have helped this starved, neglected dog bounce back to great health. What we are now seeing is a playful little dog who has come to life and is discovering the joy of chasing other small dogs around the yard and truly living again. He is spunky as all get go now, and acts like a much younger dog. Toby is low needs/low maintenance guy and can handle being left alone for a few hours while you run errands. attention, he also enjoys rough-housing and playing with other dogs like the size

Toby has been neutered, has had major dental cleaning and bad teeth removed, he is up to date on all his vaccines, has gained nice weight and is ready for his Furever home. Toby needs an adopter familiar with the Shih Tzu breed and who will commit to keeping him on the raw food/human grade mix diet and some recommended supplements to keep him healthy for life. other than healthy food, Toby is pretty low maintenance. he just wants a lap, some cuddle time, a little playtime in the yard. he does not like walks so he is happy with house and yard scampering.
