Fiona, a Dorgi puppy (Dachshund-Corgi) needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Fiona is a tan-red brown, 5-month-old male Corgi mix puppy who looks like a little teddy bear with radar ears. (Augie is her nine-week-old brother by the same mom of a former litter). both were unceremoniously dumped in the shelter by their owner and both puppies were out of time. Rompin Paws was asked to take them to save their lives. We just know there is a loving family here in Wa. who would enjoy raising a corgi mix puppy to be an excellent canine citizen and wonderful companion. fiona will need training, so a dog savvy adopter who has raised puppies and is willing to take to classes if needed is preferred. they will do best in a home with a yard to run and play as well as go for walks with their humans, rather than an apartment. Corgis can grow to 25 pounds but we think these boys will be a lot bit smaller due to the Dachshund in them. Fiona is super playful, curious and loving. Augie and Bear are eating a Human Grade Diet made for dogs for their health and longevity and we would like them to stay on it for their health. The adoption fee is $550.00 and includes all vaccines, a microchip and health certificate. Augie is dewormed and has been treated for parasites/fleas/ticks/ all monies are recycled to rescue more dogs. To apply to adopt Fiona please use this link to apply for them. www.rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps to integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences. 5) Secure visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. 7) The dog must be enrolled in professional dog training and continue until the pup passes the Canine Good Citizen Certificate 8) Please do NOT write us and ask if this puppy is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the puppy may not be available. 9) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy.
