Meet Rex
Rex was Rescued from a Chinese dog meat farm 7 months ago as a puppy. He was relinquished by his adopter to Rompin Paws Rescue "for Barking too much".

We have seen none of the behaviors exhibited that were given as reasons he was relinquished. The main one being barking and aggression barking toward other dogs. This guy is playful, chill, curious and seeking acceptance.

Rex weighs 17 pounds and will need a dog-savvy adopter. We say this because many people are seeking poodles for their hypoallergenic qualities. We want someone who is dog savvy, rescue savvy even better. Rex has had a very hard life and his first adopter failed him and locked him up in a crate for hours a day. This caused him a lot of stress (as he was locked in a crate as a Meat dog in horrid conditions as a puppy)  he does not like crates and is shy of humans still. rex has a forgiving soul and warms up with trust. Rompin Paws wants to be sure to place him in a very compassionate home where he will be treated with kindness, gentleness and love. No yelling, no crates to be locked up in. A home where Rex will receive the attention he deserves and lots of walks for his health and happiness, and with people who have time to give to this incredible young dog.

Rex is a 1-year-old neutered male poodle-Havanese mix. Rex is sweet, curious, loving, a little shy until he trust you and warms up, which is to  be expected and he is just adorable. he knows a harness and lead and walked well with several volunteers in his first weekend with us. HE LOVES WALKS!!. Rex has been here 3 days now, and not a single peep. Rex interacts well with all of the other rescue dogs here, tho again, a bit timid, but they are all new to him. Rex will make a fabulous companion for a person who has time for him, is a non-smoker and does not have young children coming and going in the home. He does well with older kids who are dog savvy from about 9 years up, as he has shown with children we tested him with.
