Chico, is a 7-pound bundle of love. This wee guy found himself in the shelter after being found on the street eating garbage. he was so ill the shelter was going to put him down. we stepped up to rescue him and planned to take him to the emergency room when he suddenly started to poop out all the garbage and recovered. Well, that was quite a start! Leo has been eating really well and is on a Human grade diet. we have updated his vaccines, neutered him and dewormed. he has been bathed and treated with coconut oil rubs to make his fur and skin soft and silky and he receives oils in his meals. he has become very sprightly and loves to play. Leo does not like or want to be an only dog and will need another younger buddy in the home to be friends and cuddle buddies with. From His foster " I highly recommend that you pick someone with a house and access to a yard, in a quiet place. He is friendly with other dogs. Chico has had a lot of trauma and is scared of nearly everything, he doesn’t really know how to walk on a leash, I think this is more due to his fear. He is potty trained and has only had two pee accidents. He is happy and playful inside but outside he is fearful of even the smallest noise. Sometimes he is happy to see other dogs, sometimes scared and wants to stay away. I have also introduced him to my friend and he did well, but when I introduced him to a male friend of mine he did not want anything to do with him. He wouldn’t even make eye contact and went into his den the entire time he was here. He just needs someone who will have the time and patience to help him work through all this trauma he has. A quiet place is a good place for that and a small companion would be good too. Chico is NOT a senior. His teeth are very young looking so likely 2 or 3 like you said".
