Charlie a Dachshund-Beagle mix male needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
Charlie is a super loving and playful 2-year old Dachshund-Beagle mix male who was relinquished to our rescue by his family who neglected and ignored him. Charlie is such a special dog and he worms his way into the heart and soul of everyone he meets. He's a charmer who is looking for a family who has no other dogs. Charlie lives for his walks, He loves to go out and see new things. He's not an inner-city kind of dog, he's more a suburb-rural or country walking kind of guy and he loves having a yard and lawn to roll around in and chase ball with you. Charlie is very much a lap dog who wants to snuggle and cuddle whenever you sit down long enough. He is very intelligent and learns easily. Charlie knows to go to the door and let you know he needs to potty and he will let you know if his meal is late by sitting near his food bowl or pawing you in askance. Charlie likes to sit and give kisses. he listens well and wants to learn and do what is asked. He is Hunter-playful and loves his toys and split antler chew. His foster says he loves to cuddle in bed. Charlie needs a family who can be there for him. He will not do well being left 8-10 hours a day. Charlie would be best with someone who works from home, is retired or a stay at home person in the family. He has a prey drive given his breeds and will chase small animals, cats and birds, so he needs to be an only pet. Charlie does have some separation anxieties from being ignored in his previous home, so thats why a retired or work from home person that can work with him on this and who is very dog savvy and knows these breeds would be the best adopter for Charlie.
