Sweet Pea is a Poodle senior of Approx 10 Years of age and 11 pounds. SweetPea came to Rompin Paws Rescue after his human mom died of Covid 19 and 5 animals were left homeless. Sweet Pea is neutered and up to date on Vaccines. Sweat Pea has had a major dental cleaning and extractions, most of his teeth have been removed due to extensive dental disease. He has healed nicely and has 6 teeth remaining that have been cleaned. We will educate his adopters on proper dental care.

Sweet Pea is the sweetest and smartest boy we've ever seen! He will attach to you quickly and follow you 24/7 wherever you go. He loves to be petted, hugged, and cuddled. He usually is very quiet and just keeps looking at you when he wants attention. He only barks when he sees strangers. He gets along very well with our dogs too. Although he is a senior dog, he always learns from our dogs and us and adapts to new customs/habits.
He eats very well. He likes to eat raw food very much (he also can eat dehydrated dog food such as the honest kitchen). He prefers to eat food from your hand rather than from a bowl, so use your hand to give him food. He will give you puppy eyes when you give him food and tells you that he is happy being fed by you. Your hand will get messy, but it's worth it:)
With a healthy diet, he has lots of energy now, loves playing with toys, runs around in a backyard, and enjoys walking outside on a leash. He is potty trained. He can use pee pads or do his business in the backyard or during a walk.
He likes to sleep on a human bed with you and nap on a sofa while you're watching TV. His hind legs are not very strong, so he uses steps/ramps to come up to the furniture. If sleeping on a human bed is not allowed, just place a dog bed next to it. He sleeps there very well too, as long as you are sleeping near him.
Since he had a major dental cleaning and extractions, he has a small hole in his gum. Also, his remaining teeth and gums appear to be susceptible to get periodontal disease or cavity due to a genetic cause, so he needs to clean the hole and teeth every day to keep his teeth healthy.
Because he really wants to be with his human all the time, people who can stay at home almost all the time (retired or work from home) would be ideal.
Sweet Pea has an adoption fee of $495.00. This does not cover his dental care but helps return some cash flow to the rescue to put toward saving more dogs.
