Rita

is a sweet little Black and Tan Dachshund mix girl. Rita was pulled from a kill shelter where she had been buried in a back room and no one knew she was there. finally after persistence in asking if they had any dogs at risk, they told us about Rita. Rita is approx 5 years of age, spayed, and has recently had a veterinarian removed eye. She may have compromised sight in her remaining eye but she gets around pretty well. Rita seems to have been someones breeding dog as she has definitely had multiple litters. She also seems to be about 2/3 Dachshund.

Rita is shy at first because she is unsure of what is going on. Rita loves to be talked to and will roll over for belly rubs and just lie there soaking up the attention. When held she will fall back into you and want to stay close. Rita is a gentle soul who seems to have been through much and really needs someone who will dote on her and love her. We don't know if she has been around children so we will recommend only dog savvy children over the age of 10. Rita is approx. 13 pounds and is her perfect weight.  Due to her eyesight she will need a safe, secure fenced yard and never be left outdoors unattended.  Rita is a gentle, loving soul who deserves someone who will love her deeply and show her humans can be kind and loving too.

To apply to adopt Rita, she has a $595.00 adoption fee. All fees are recycled to save more dogs, special needs dogs and seniors.
