Fetch

Fetch is a gorgeous and very smart 6-year-old Rat Terrier mix.  Fetch wants nothing more than your unconditional love.  He loves to walk and he loves to play fetch.  He also enjoys using his nose to find treats hidden around the house.  He loves to be close to his favorite human and wants to be wherever you are, following you around curiously.  He loves to snuggle up close to you and be your best friend.  What Fetch needs most is a dedicated human or humans that will work with him while having lots of fun and snuggles.

Here's a little information on Fetch's background.  He spent the first 5 years of his life in a small yard with another small dog.  5 months before he was relinquished, he lost his dog friend.  Then he lost his family. Fetch is looking for his emotional support human or humans.  This little guy needs his human, so if you are gone multiple hours a day, please pass him by.   Fetch is such a sweet boy.  Once he bonds, you can look into his eyes and see a gentle soul who really wants to be loved.  He is happy to be living indoors and getting lots of attention and snuggles in his foster home.  He really needs at least one other friendly dog in the home, he will not do well as an only dog.  He does have separation anxiety and having a little dog companion really helps him to be calmer. Fetch can  be overstimulated on walks and going outdoors in a busy environment.  He expresses his distress by having leash reactivity.  Fetch needs a quiet yard to start with no surrounding neighbors. (or ones you can coordinate out times to start)  He needs to work with a positive reinforcement trainer approved by the rescue and start training in a quiet yard and work his way out into the world.  He needs positive experiences and introduced properly into the world while staying within his comfort zone and slowly expanding exposures.   Fetch deserves the very best life, he is a very sweet boy who will be very loyal to the lucky human who adopts him and gives him time to bond.  He is fun, loving, loyal, silly, and loves to fetch.  He would be a wonderful agility dog, I would recommend doing agility in a quiet yard to start.  He would have a blast.  He also loves nose games, snuffle mats, lick mats, and scavenger hunts.  If you are looking for a fun little guy to work with and love, look no further.

If you currently don't have another dog but are open to adopting a friend for Fetch, we can help you match him with a friend.  He really does need another dog in the home.  No cats please and responsible calm children only who have rescue dog experience.
He has been neutered, up to date on vaccines and his teeth have been professionally cleaned. (no extractions)

Fetch has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for him and his new buddies. To apply to adopt Fetch he has a $550.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.                                                                                                                                                                                                Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.  HTTP://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/
