KALI

is an all-black 18-pound, spayed female-Italian Greyhound-Miniature Pincher mix. The pictures show her overweight when she arrived. Kali is now her perfect weight, muscled and lithe.

Kali, oh sweet Kali. She may be one of four dogs thrown from a car at a canal near Turlock California. All of the dogs ran and 2 were captured. Being black, she was overlooked at the shelter and became fearful so she was euthanasia listed. We pulled her because we knew a great dog lived behind the fear. Kali is an 18 pound Italian Greyhound mix. She is fearful when meeting new people, but once she is home and allowed to decompress and come out of her shell, she is a tail-wagging, body-wagging lover. Kali sleeps with me at nite, lives for her belly rubs, and loves to run and run with her foster friends in the huge backyard. We have not leash trained her yet due to the wildlife here so her new peeps will need to work with her on lead training.

Kali is housebroken, 4 years of age, and ready for her own family. She gets along well with all the rescue dogs-puppies, small-medium breed dogs, and some larger dogs if they are friendly. Kali is a good watchdog and will alert you to any unusual noises outside. Kali does have stranger fear so a quieter home without a lot of people coming and going is preferred and an adult only home.

She will be excellent for a single woman with no children around who leads a quiet life

but will keep her busy and active.

Kali is very sensitive and intuitive. "She reads the room" and seems to pick up on people's emotions and intent.. Kali will need an experienced, gentle, understanding adopter(s) who will give her a little time to settle. Perhaps retired or work from home person who will have time for her. Talking sweetly to Kali goes a long way and she can hear in your voice if you are a good person and reacts in kind. She loves to be talked to and will sit intently listening. Kali will bark if she is afraid or really needs to get your attention. When in trouble, she has been trained to jump into my arms, when I bend down- on the words "UP" so I can quickly remove her from a dangerous situation

I do not know if she is leash trained, but she is smart, and with wearing a leash and harness inside for a few days, taking her out in the yard to start and training her should be fairly easy.

Kali is on a Human grade and Raw food diet. Rompin Paws rescue educates our adopters on Canine-specific feeding and care. Kali loves her meals and she has trimmed down since she arrived and is a lithe and muscular girl who loves to run and play with her buddies in the yard.

Kali has a $595.00 adoption fee. All monies are recycled to save more dogs and help us give medical care to the increasing number of seniors being dumped.
