Zhen

Is a gorgeous middle-aged PeekaPom male who was running as a stray. after he was caught the finder tried for weeks to locate an owner with no success. Zhen has been guessed to be 6-7 years of age, he has been fixed, and is up to date on vaccines, is heartworm negative, and has been groomed. Zhen does need a dental cleaning and we are working on getting him in for that procedure.

Zhen has been transitioned to a Human Grade Raw and Dehydrated Canine diet. These foods have detoxed Zhen while helping him regain his full health. Zhen is a very sweet, mellow, slightly cautious lapdog who benefits from his daily walks/exercise program. we are seeking a family who will keep him on his healthy diet and takin him for his daily runs. This boy has a lot of energy. He would make an excellent trail dog.  Rompin Paws Rescue will educate Zhen's adopters in species-specific feeding.

From Zhens foster:  

• Zhen is friendly and sociable with every human, canine and feline and equine. 
• He is cheerful and smart and eager to please.
• When excited he twirls very fast in place - like a dervish. Very funny.
• He has a lot of energy.
• He seemed fearful of water (bath) at first but calmed down after a few minutes. Same with being blow dried. He seemed really nervous but responded quickly to being reassured. He seemed quite worried about the water at the beach.
• He does not like walking on paths with pine needles. He keeps stopping to try to get them out of his feet (or at least that was my best guess!), I carried him past them and he was fine again.

Zhen is loving, playful, and loves to have his belly rubbed. You can tell his start in life was rough but he still trusts and seeks a lap for cuddles and kisses. Zhen has a sweet personality, gets along with all the other rescue dogs, and really just wants someone to love and dote on him. He was recently groomed and will need regular professional grooming to keep his coat tangle-free.  Zhen is on the best quality joint supplements as his back end is a little weak and the muscle up and complete joint supplements are helping rebuild his tissue. We will show these products to the adopter and how to use them.

To apply to adopt this sweet little guy, please have time for a dog and time to exercise and be committed to healthy feeding. Zhen needs a family who works from home or is retired so he can receive the love and attention he deserves. Zhen does not like to be left alone and will not do well with a family that is gone 8-10 hours a day. He will do wonderfully with another friendly small dog.  The foster/rescuer has spent a lot of time helping Zhen learn to trust and be happy again. Rompin Paws Rescue will be seeking very Compassionate and experienced dog owners who are experienced with rescue dogs.

Zhen has an adoption fee of $650.00 and all monies are recycled to save more dogs.

All Animals are current on Vaccinations, spayed or neutered if age appropriate, microchipped, dewormed, deflea if required, General wellness exams (with health certificates if brought in from out of state).
