Chihuahua / Mixed (medium coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Small Learn more about the Chihuahua.
LAVERNE Laverne is a small Chihuahua mix female senior who nearly died at the shelter from emaciation and dehydration. we pulled her to save her life. Laverne has been in foster care for over a month, she has slowly gained weight and continues to do so, and is becoming more healthy. We have had her 3 rotted teeth removed and the 7 remaining have been cleaned. Laverne has been switched to a canine appropriate diet of Human-Grade Raw and Dehydrated foods and many supplements to help her regain her health and strength. it is working beautifully. Rompin Paws Rescue will educate her adopters on canine-specific feeding. Laverne needs another month to regain her proper weight and fully rebuild her muscle tissue and joint health and then she will be ready in mid-July for her forever home. Laverne is a sweet lapdog who likes to be cuddled and spoken to. Laverne is regaining her leg strength so spending time in the yard or walks of a couple of blocks is beneficial to her health and physical fitness. Laverne would do best with folk who work from home or are retired. Currently, she is being fostered in a home that has multiple rescue dogs and she just loves everyone, including the Chihuahua puppies.
Rompin Paws Rescue is accepting applications for Laverne so we can have the time to review them, interview adopters, and set up a meeting to meet her potential people, we will send her home with the chosen person(s) when she is ready. This will give you time to get your home ready for her and purchase supplies.
