GENO

Background

Geno is the sweetest, most docile boy. He is so gentle, it hurts to know he was likely dumped from a car and left. He has a fear of being left outside. Geno is a gentle soul who wants to be loved and accepted by a human who will never leave him alone to survive-ever again. Geno is approx 2 years old, 18 pounds, curly tail, and, is adorable! Geno is in a loving foster home where he is learning how to play, learning what harness and lead are, and loving living indoors and eating regularly served meals.

Here is what I have to say about Geno: foster notes
What a Gem.
1. House trained. Has not messed yet!
2. Gentle, gets along w/ my 3 dogs. Takes treats softly.
3. Leashed trained, I have worked daily w/ him. Heels to your left and has a beautiful gait as if in a show.
4. Not interested in toys at this time.
5. Love-bug, once you give him rubs and gain his trust(easily w/ chicken pieces) he wants you as a master.
6. Prey....none! We have been around squirrels birds other big dogs and a 300lb Buck passed us...no pulling or jumping.  He basically just minds his own business.  I would think he'd do the same w/ cats.
7. Loves his breakfast at 7:30 am and Dinner at  4:30 pm. Otherwise, he does not beg you.
8. I have taught him to sit and shake.
9.Does not BARK at things!! OMG! Doorbell, Amazon deliveries, and people around...no bark..even when my 3 are barking up a storm!! Is he for real?
10. Super smart. He knows if he hears "NO", he stops, sits, and waits for you to tell him he is ok.

WHAT GENO NEEDS (and notes from his foster)

is a patient person or couple who will see the gem in this boy. He very much wants to be close and be your best friend and to trust again. His foster is working closely with him to show human humans can be good and that he is loved and adored. Geno is eating up the attention. He does well with the fosters' dogs, he is easygoing and gentle with the pups and the humans that he meets. Geno would do well with a friendly small dog that needs/wants a companion. With patience, unconditional love, and time, Geno will be your best buddy. He has had a hard few months on the streets surviving, he is safe now and he knows it, and he truly wants to please and be a part of a loving family or with a human who has time for him.

foster notes

Through the 3 weeks I have had to love him..

My ideal adoptor:  A couple that has a fenced yard. Kids- ok, but he is mellow so he will (so far) not be interested in playing ball. So a secure family that wants an amazing mellow gentle family member who will use a dog door...or sit at the door to the back yard when he needs to go, is ideal.
Only dog?=fine. Or with other dogs?= fine too!
Not to be crated all day, that is not a life, he does not need to be crated. If someone is gone all day at work and thinks they will crate him- NO, this dog is not for you.
He loves sitting on your lap while you watch TV, or I have him on my lap when at my computer. He loves walks.
He WILL NOT BE AN Outside DOG! He is from CA, and very cold here- November here in WA .

How To Adopt Geno

Geno has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for him and his new buddies. To apply to adopt Geno he has a $495.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.      HTTP://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/
