AVERY

Avery is a 4.5-month-old Basenji-Chihuahua mix puppy who found herself at the shelter instead of nursing with her momma. We don't know her story but she was going to be euthanized for space so she joined 19 others in coming to our rescue that day. Avery is in foster care and having a blast with her foster humans and 2 puppy friends as well the foster's 2 dogs. She has her first puppy shots and a vet wellness visit and we will continue to give them to her as needed until adopted. Avery is dewormed. She is ready for adoption. Avery is a Jack Russell mix and they are high-energy dogs.

What Avery Needs

Avery is seeking a human who will:

-Provide her with a VERY playful dog buddy who can keep up with her Basenji energy. Be willing to train her to a harness and lead and be willing to provide VERY LONG walks. this is not a couch Potatoe puppy.

-Provide her with lots of love and cuddles, and let her snuggle on their chest/face while sleeping.

-Give her plenty of exercise - both playing and long walks.

-Already lives with a playful dog or dog-friendly cat who can also be her companion while her human is busy. Avery is great with the fosters' cats

-Provide her with lots of toys/split antlers/no hides so she can chew on things that are better for her puppy teeth.

-Understand that while she’s super adorable, she’s also an incredibly intelligent individual who is communicating her needs all the time. She’ll always tell you what she wants!

-Not have any small rodent pets or small animals she would see as prey. she has a strong prey drive.

Avery has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. SHE LOVES HER NEW FOOD! We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for her and her new buddies. To apply to adopt Avery, she has a $495.00 adoption fee.
