Tenakee May be a rare Alaskan Klee Kai (or Klee Kai-Shiba Inu mix) dumped by the breeder.

Tenakee was found dumped at a park and taken to a county shelter where she was discovered to be blind.  Tenakee being blind and having an underbite was undesirable and likely not sellable, so the breeders dumped her in a park. Tenakee has seen a specialist for optometry and after several tests it was determined she was born with underdeveloped eyes that cannot be corrected.

Tenakee is assumed to be 7 months old based on her teeth.  She is a super friendly, super-loving puppy who has the Husky trait of talking. Unlike the Husky, she will be a small size dog of approx 22-24 pounds. Tenakee has shown us she has excellent hearing and responds well to being talked to. And like any Klee Kai mix or Shiba Inu, even though she is blind, she requires a large yard to play and run in, as well as walks to fulfill her exercise needs. Currently, Tenakee is doing well on a harness and can be trained to walk on a lead and learn by listening to her companions' voices.

Tenakee is So Sweet, so cute and so lovable. All she wants to do is please, play, and be loved on. she will make someone an excellent companion

What Tenakee Needs

Tenakee needs loving, patient yet active humans that will keep her happy and well-exercised, understand she is trainable, and use force-free training methods only.  She is very receptive to love and positive reinforcement and is very smart. Tenakee would benefit from 1-2 dog buddies that will mentor her, be her BFF, and help guide her. But it is not a dealbreaker. Tenakee loves having dog friends and does really well with following their sounds out in the yard/acreage. She is extremely loyal. She needs a gentle hand. She will need daily rituals so she can know what to expect. A busy day full of activity so she does not become bored. Blind dogs have no sense of day and nite. keep her well-exercised and happy so she can sleep through the nite when you do and remain healthy. Tenakee will thrive with someone who works from home or is retired and can spend a lot of time with her.

Tenakee has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. All Animals are current on Vaccinations, spayed or neutered if age appropriate, microchipped, dewormed, deflea if required, General wellness exams (with health certificates if brought in from out of state).
