**Meet Smokey, Your Adorable Dachshund-Corgi Mix Companion!**

Smokey is a sweet boy with the long body of a Dachshund, and he is taller than his sister. At first, he may appear timid, but once he meets a kind and caring person, he blossoms into a loving and affectionate individual. With his unique combination of a Dachshund’s body and a Corgi’s soft, silky fur, Smokey is a delightful companion who thrives in the company of people and other dogs. Plus, he’s pretty stunning!

Smokey loves to run and run and chase his dog friends around the doggi play-yard. Smokey is in good physical shape and loves to chase. He will make an excellent walking companion.

Smokey has recently been neutered, is up to date on vaccinations, and is in excellent health. Smokey will do well as an only dog. If you have one, he will do well with another younger, playful, dog-friendly FEMALE pup. Smokey becomes very close to his person and loves to cuddle on a lap.

Due to the nature of Dachshunds, they are not suitable for small animals, cats, or farm fowl. Dachshunds have a prey drive. If Smokey is to be the only dog, he will need a person or family who is around a lot, retired, or works from home. If you think you're a good match for Smokey, we'd love to hear from you.

**How to Adopt Smokey:**

To initiate the adoption process, please click the link below to complete an application. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with a phone call to ask questions, address any concerns you may have, and determine if you would be a good match for Smokey. If we find a potential match, the next crucial step is a meet-and-greet. This allows you to meet Smokey and see if you both connect. We recommend using a computer to fill out the application, as tablets and cell phones often cause issues and may result in the submission being dropped.                                         Smokey has been transitioned to a human-grade diet, which replaces kibble with a healthier, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will provide education to his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for Smokey and any other pets they may have.                                                                    The adoption fee for Smokey is $495.00. All Animals are current on Vaccinations, spayed or neutered if age appropriate, microchipped, dewormed, deflea if required, General wellness exams (with health certificates if brought in from out of state).
