Trixie is a sweet 1.5 yr old   Dachshund/Terrier  mix who was rescued on her last day in a high kill California shelter with her sister Jessie. When Trixie first arrived in Seattle she was so frightened. After much patience, healthy food (they were emaciated) a big yard to play in and many dogs to bond and develop social skills with, Trixie has just Blossomed!!  Now, she greets us at the door when we come inside with joyful noises, invitations to rub her belly as she playfully squirms on her bed, soft nuzzles and gentle kisses.

Trixie is approximately 15 pounds, shy , sweet, playful, curious and ready for her forever home. Trixie loves large male dogs (like shepards)and small breed puppies but does not do so well with adult small dogs.  Trixie  loves to run in a big yard and since Dachshunds and Doxie mixes tend to hold weight, exercise is as important as diet for keeping her fit and trim.

Trixie will make a wonderful addition to a home with all adults, retired couple, or a single person who is looking for a lap dog and will have the patience to work with Trixie as she continues to blossom.

Update from Trixies Foster mom:

This is Trixie sleeping with her foster sister. Trixie loves morning rubs first thing when she wakes up. She just rolls around in bed loving every second of it! She will be the most loyal dog you have ever had. After a few weeks of bonding, she has bee n my shadow, at my feet under my desk while I work. When you come home, she will greet you wagging her whole body!  No destructive behavior, she is not a needy dog that demands attention but is so grateful for affection.
