Shep.

Is a 8 week old (11/25) shepeard basenji puppy aquired at the age of four weeks. the man who adopted him, then dropped him off at the shelter at 6 weeks of age.  We were asked totake him, which we did. Shep has been socializing woth a pack of large and small breed dogs and is doing quite well. he has a very strong independent streak for such a young dog. he gets along well with everyone in the rescue and loves to cuddle on a lap.  he is quite intelligent. he learned to go on a pee pad without any encouragement and has for 2 weeks now. He has not been outdoors yet as he is too young.

Shep will need an experienced and savvy dog person and preferably one to two other dogs to be companions with and to mentor him since he lost his family at so young an age.

We guess Shep will be about 40-45 lbs as an adult, larger size of medium. he will need to be enrolled in doggie school which will benefit everyone and keep his active mind, well active.

He is intelligent, cute, playful, cuddly, independent, should make a good watchdog and will be a loyal companion

He is to be an indoor only dog. I.E no being left outside by himself alone or when anyone is not home, He is an indoor dog and meant to be a family member.

If you think shep is the dog for you, do not hesitate, we suspect he will not be here very long
